How to Apply

Recruitment Fall 2026

New Members

Please reach out if you have any questions!

Welcome! — Below are all things membership.

During the first two weeks of each semester, stop by our table on Speedway or in front of the FAC and say hello! This is a great opportunity for you to meet with our officers and ask any questions about what our organization has to offer.

Stop By During Tabling

We host several information sessions both in person and online, and your attendance at one of them is required for membership. These sessions are a great way for you to get to know the officers, see all that Texas PLHS has to offer, and ask any questions you may have.

Information Session

Dues

Submit an Application - Texas PLHS will send out applications for membership each semester. The application will consist of short-answer questions and GPA verification.

Application

GPA - For incoming freshmen, the minimum high school GPA is 3.5 (87+ on 100 scale). For all other applicants (transfers and current UT students), the minimum college GPA is 3.3.

Short Essays - All new applicants are required to fill out three short essays. These essays entail questions about career goals and the values of the Texas Pre-Law Honor Society.

Application Requirements

All accepted New Members are required to pay $70 dues to the organization. Dues give members access to all resources, events and connections within the organization.

Returning Members

Welcome back! — Below are the steps to renew your membership.

During the first two weeks of each semester, stop by our table (either on Speedway or in front of the FAC) and say hello! This is a great opportunity for us to reconnect with returning members, talk about the upcoming semester, and to answer any questions!

Stop By During Tabling

Members who remain in good standing with Texas PLHS are eligible to renew their membership each semester. Maintaining good standing allows you to continue your membership without completing the full application process required of new applicants.

To renew your membership, you must have earned at least 50 points (35 Points for Spring 2026 Members) during your most recently completed semester and be applying within one year of your last active semester.

Note: Returning applicants for Fall 2026 are only required to have earned 35 points, as this was the point requirement in effect during their previous semester.

Good Standing

Returning members may fill out the continued-interest section of the application to confirm their membership for the upcoming semester. There are no short-answer essay questions and we will only ask for an updated GPA verification.
